Recall Details
Issue: On certain Super Duty trucks, the electric tailgate latch could malfunction. This may cause the tailgate to unlatch on its own. If the tailgate opens while driving, cargo that is not secured could fall out of the truck bed and onto the road. Safety Risk: Cargo that falls from the truck bed could create a road hazard for others. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to modify the tailgate/frame wiring harnesses and will install a new tailgate handle release switch.

Recall Details
Issue: On certain Super Duty models equipped with a SuperCrew cab, after a crash where a front seat belt pretensioner deploys, the carpet and/or carpet insulation could catch fire. Safety Risk: A fire that occurs after a crash could create an increased risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer for repair. The dealer will apply foil tape to the carpet and carpet insulation, and modify the sound deadener on the back side of both driver and passenger side B-pillar trim panels as needed.

Recall Details
Issue: On certain vehicles, the electronic stability control (ESC) and antilock brake system (ABS) could turn off due to a software error. If this happens, the vehicle's ESC and ABS warning lights would not turn on. Safety Risk: If a driver is not aware that the ESC and ABS systems are not working, there could be an increased risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the Electronic Brake Control Module software.

Recall Details
Issue: On certain trucks, the nut that attaches the positive battery cable to the alternator could loosen. This could affect the electrical connection, resulting in an engine stall and/or arcing. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Electrical arcing could damage surrounding material and increase the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to inspect the connection between the positive battery cable and the alternator. If necessary, it will be cleaned and reattached. If the nut, cable or terminal are damaged, the dealer will replace the damaged parts.
