NTEA recently crossed paths with Bart Truck Equipment LLC, a distributor member in West Springfield, Massachusetts. The business was founded in 1968 as O.R. Cote Co. (owned by Bob Cote and Ted Reilly). In 1979, Ted and Marty Tourtelotte formally took over operations and changed the name to Bart Truck Equipment Co. Inc. After the DiClementi family (James, Therese and their sons Chris and Tim) purchased the company in 2010, it became Bart Truck Equipment LLC. The organization joined NTEA in 1968, just four years after the Association was formed.
In 1977, at a young age, Jim DiClementi started working at O.R. Cote as a mechanic’s helper. He stayed with the company when its named changed to Bart Truck Equipment, eventually working his way up to shop foreman. In 1993, he became service manager, and in 2004, was named general manager. Five years after the DiClementi family bought the business, they purchased the property. Therese took over the organization’s accounting, Chris held the position of office/sales manager and Tim was shop foreman while helping in the service and parts departments. Since 2010, the company has more than doubled its sales and is always striving for continual future growth.
As an OEM, the business provides truck equipment for the work truck industry, municipal and private sectors. It specializes in sales, service and custom fabrication of dump, service and platform bodies, plows, sanders, mobile cranes, hydraulic systems, and more. Its goal is to provide customers with quality truck equipment and accessories, outstanding service and a large parts selection to get their equipment back on the job as quickly as possible.
The company builds and custom-fabricates just about anything, including sophisticated snow and ice removal trucks and other specialty equipment for its customer base, which encompasses private contractors, landscapers, fleets, municipalities and utility companies.
Bart Truck Equipment sits on 2.5 acres with a roughly 10,000 square-foot building that includes five working bays, warehousing and office space, and a parts department. Nine full-time employees make customer satisfaction the number-one priority.
