The GTA monitors legislative and regulatory issues which can affect the design, production and sale of green truck technologies, commercial vehicles and equipment. Government funding, policy and rulemaking are critical to this segment of the transportation industry.
In addition, the Association is dedicated to keeping you informed about government policies, legislative activities, funding opportunities and rulemaking related to the production and deployment of vocational vehicles utilizing alternative fuels and advanced driveline technologies.
The goal of the GTA is also to provide members with insights on how they can play a positive role in the development of government policy with regard to the future of sustainable transportation.

GTA Sends Comments to EPA and NHTSA on GHG and Fuel Efficiency Proposed Rule
The GTA has sent comments to the EPA and NHTSA on their joint proposed rule on truck fuel efficiency and greenhouse gas reduction. The proposal calls for both fuel consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction standards applicable to medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
DERA Extension Approved in Congress
HR 5809, the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act was approved by unanimous consent in the Senate on December 16, 2010 and the House agreed to the Senate version of the bill by a voice vote on December 21, 2010. The bill can now be sent to the President for his signature.
