The refiner attaches to the engine, cleans the oil on board, removes solid particles down to 5 microns, traps and neutralizes acids, keeps water content below 0.05%, keeps fuel dilution to less than 1%, eliminates oil changes, extends the engine's life, and results in a fuel-economy improvement of 3% to 4% — meaning that a fleet the size of Wal-Mart could potentially save the equivalent of 7.6 million gallons of diesel fuel a year. Over–the- road truck diesel engines generally change oil four to six times a year.  The typical oil change is 40 quarts. If there are 3 million trucks running freight across the US, that’s 3M Trucks x 6 oil changes x 40 quarts = 720M quarts OR 180 million gallons of used oil that has to be disposed of.

With today’s Environmental focus, the product is being re-marketed to large over-the-road trucks and other users of heavy machinery. The product is relatively inexpensive and tends to pay back the investment within six months or less. Some studies show a return on investment of over 800% over five years.

Diesel engines, cars, light trucks, hydraulic engines, and anything that runs on oil. Medium-duty trucks – those bigger than personal vehicles and smaller than tractor-trailers – use over eight billion gallons of fuel a year and are also responsible for producing over 80 million metric tons of carbon dioxide each year. With the Electro-Lube Refiner, companies can now save millions of dollars, reduce their carbon footprint, and meet new federal and state requirements.

Energy experts agree we cannot continue to burn fossil fuels, oil prices will rise once again and are expected to stay high, and T. Boone Picken's Plan tells us that, "nearly 33% of every barrel of oil we import is used by 18-wheelers moving goods around and across the country by burning imported diesel. An over-the-road truck cannot be moved using current battery technology. Fleet vehicles like buses, taxis, express delivery trucks, and municipal and utility vehicles (any vehicle which returns to the "barn" each night where refueling is a simple matter) should be replaced by vehicles running on clean, cheap, domestic natural gas rather than imported gasoline or diesel fuel."  Mr. Pickens is right and an automobile revolution is upon us, but it will take years to pull off.
